Today we are celebrating because we have changed from Allpics to Archie Five Photography. Why the name change? Because as business has grown we’ve been doing less and less “all pics” and more and more weddings and editorial work, so it only seemed fitting to find a name that suited our style. All future blogs and updates will only be posted on the Archie Five Blog. Please grab a drink from the fridge, click on Archie Five, take a look around, send me an email or a tweet and let me know what you think. Cheers!
Yalumba
This week I headed up to the Barossa Valley in South Australia to do some commercial photography for Yalumba Winery.

The new Adelaide Hills magazine is out featuring some great articles and some of my fashion shots at the Uraidla Lawn Bowls Club.
3 rad girls
Just wanted to say a big thank you to my beautiful wife and three gorgeous daughters for another amazing year. And thank you to all my clients, blog followers and anyone that has helped me out holding a flash or reflector on jobs – cheers!
Merry Christmas, have a safe and happy new year. I look forward to catching up with you all in 2011.
1st in the world!
I have just received a first place in the International Wedding Photojournalist Association Awards! Not one for blowing smoke out of my own backside, here are some words from the WPJA website and judges comments.
2010 Q3 PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST RESULTS
The 2010 Q3 Photography Contest showcases the wedding photojournalism of WPJA members throughout the 2010 year in 12 categories. From 13,686 entries only 240 finalists were selected.
Every year WPJA hosts the largest wedding photography competitions in the world judged by panels of award-winning photojournalists and designers. Competitions, which are held quarterly and open only to WPJA members, are part of the association’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in wedding photojournalism. Membership in WPJA requires rigorous standards in technical skill, aesthetics and best business practices.
JUDGES COMMENTS: Sometimes it is nice to just step back and not interfere with the moment. Looking through the window feels like we are witnessing the groom seriously contemplating the gravity of his big day.
JUDGES COMMENTS: I love the composition and the sense of texture. The groom all alone in the field contemplating the moment is truly captured in a very artistic manner.
JUDGES COMMENTS: This photograph has a dream like quality. The photographer framed this beautifully though the window and captured a very private moment of the groom that we don’t often see. The body language on the groom adds another element to the photo.
